William W. Thomas

Will ThomasMr. Thomas' practice focuses on claims involving complex fraud, mainly in the healthcare industry. He primarily represents whistleblowers in federal and multistate False Claims Act cases against large corporate defendants. He also has experience with the IRS Whistleblower Act. He has worked on a number of large cases against such defendants as Omnicare, CVS, and Walgreens.

Prior to joining Behn & Wyetzner, Mr. Thomas served as a litigator at the firm of Futterman, Howard, Ashley, Watkins & Weltman, concentrating not only on qui tam litigation but also on complex consumer fraud and securities cases, ERISA, and civil rights cases. Mr. Thomas has also been active representing pro bono clients for the Pro Bono Center for Disability and Elder Law in Social Security, Veterans' Administration, and other benefit hearings. Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Thomas worked as a hospital administrator and grant manager at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center.

Mr. Thomas holds a J.D. and an LL.M. in Taxation from Chicago Kent College of Law, an M.A. in American History from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a B.A. from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to practice in Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

He also currently serves as Treasurer of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago, and has been active with that organization's Judicial Evaluation program for over a decade.
